The story

The opportunity

A respected retailer with a much bigger role to play

PowerGolf had more than 20 years of retail credibility, premium brands, custom-fitting expertise and deep knowledge of the game. But retail promotion alone could only take the brand so far.

To reach beyond established golfers, PowerGolf needed to feel less like a place people visited when they were ready to buy—and more like a destination they would choose to watch, follow and return to.

The strategic idea

Entertainment first. Retail second.

Relaunch the YouTube channel around personalities, stories and participation—not a stream of product advertising. Make golf approachable and entertaining, while allowing PowerGolf’s knowledge, people and products to appear naturally within the content.

The content engine

One channel
Multiple reasons to return

A repeatable mix of flagship series and lighter recurring formats gave PowerGolf both consistency and variety. Each stream had a different job—but all reinforced the same more accessible, personality-led version of the brand.

Nine Holes Deep

The flagship: a nine-hole match-play competition between mates, with golf-and-life conversation—effectively a podcast on a golf course.

Challenges and competitions

Brings energy, jeopardy and personalities into the game while creating natural recurring storylines.

Coaching and progression

Helps newer players improve and gives audiences a reason to follow an ongoing journey.

Gear and the workshop

Shows expertise, fitting and product knowledge in context—useful rather than overtly promotional.

Collaborations

Introduces new personalities and audiences, including entertainment-led pathways into golf for people outside the traditional golf bubble.

The engine in action

The live content system

From isolated videos to a visible publishing rhythm

Behind the output sits a shared planning and production system that connects ideas, formats, shoots, edits and publishing dates. The result is a living view of the channel—not another static content plan that disappears into a spreadsheet.

Featured work

Nine Holes Deep

A match-play series with the looseness of a podcast and the natural tension of competitive golf. The format makes room for humour, rivalry and real conversation—giving viewers a reason to care about the people as much as the score.

An embedded content team

Built with PowerGolf
Not simply delivered to them

PowerGolf’s team could capture natural, vlogger-style content when the moment called for it, with videographer support for larger productions. Behind them, a dedicated FastCut team shaped the ongoing program—from ideation and filming support through editing, graphics and publishing.

That combination kept the content close to the people and personality of the business, while maintaining the consistency and production support needed to build a genuine channel.

The result

500 → 15,000 YouTube subscribers In nine months

A thirty-fold increase—and a clear signal that audiences were responding to PowerGolf as more than a retailer.

The takeaway

A retailer people choose to follow

PowerGolf already had the products and expertise. The content engine gave audiences a reason to spend time with the brand before they were ready to buy—and keep coming back afterwards.
